Job Description

Reports To:
Project Manager

Summary of Position:
Provide support to the project manager(s) that they are assigned to. Project Engineers need to be highly organized, detail oriented and have the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 

Major Activities:
  • Assist Project Manager with overall scheduling of project including the required timetables for subcontractors’ work
  • Assist Project Manager with buy outs of subcontracts and equipment
  • Be familiar with and review all contract documents and contract language
  • Ensure that all company safety concerns and policies are fully enforced at all times on the project
  • Communicate and direct the coordination of Vendors and Subcontractors
  • Communicate and direct the coordination of field staff
  • Review submittals for conformity with job specifications/ requirements
  • Help distribute and record all project information, including bulletins, addenda, change notices etc. to all project team members and subcontractors for review.
  • Help estimate pricing for change requests
  • Coordinate and process change requests and approved change orders within the contract requirements
  • Monitor the release and scheduling of equipment to jobsite
  • Direct all equipment purchase orders and equipment purchase change orders
  • Direct all subcontracts and subcontractor change orders
  • Attend weekly and bi weekly project meetings with the General Contractor to coordinate job activities to be accomplished
  • Participate in Operations, Kick-off and Closeout Meetings
  • Visit local project sites when requested/ required to monitor job progress and to provide assistance
  • Maintain up to date progress information, and help to oversee control of the project costs and reporting to ensure the profitability of a project
  • Help complete project’s financial status reports and attend monthly status report meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all substantial completion and project closeout requirements

Job Requirements

Ability to perform work in various types of software
Ability to work with variety of departments and staff
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to be flexible, prioritize tasks, work independently
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience will be considered
Construction experience preferred
